Paul Chapman

HornbyChapman Ltd is a specialist recruitment firm focused on senior permanent and contract/interim hiring in the post-trade world covering banks, asset managers, fintech firms and infrastructure providers. The firm works on roles from middle management to board level in Sales, Risk, Product, Relationship Management, Operations, and Strategy / General Management.

It also has a Non-Executive Division headed by Emma Berwick, which offers executive search, Board advisory and inclusion and diversity expertise rooted in a strong technical understanding of the governance, risk, regulatory and behavioural requirements which are vital for impactful boards. Emma is a headhunter with over fifteen years’ experience in executive search in London and Hong Kong, working with senior leaders in financial services, fintech, central government and research and innovation to attract and retain successful Boards and C level teams.
 
Prior to founding HornbyChapman Ltd. with Victoria Hornby in 2006, Paul Chapman spent almost eighteen years in the asset servicing industry. Following graduation from Bournemouth University with an Honours degree in Financial Services he spent eleven years with Brown Brothers Harriman in a variety of positions prior to becoming Senior Vice President, Head of Investor Services London and also Managing Director, BBH ISL (Trustees) Ltd. Following that he worked for the Pershing Division of CSFB as Director of Sales for Europe and then State Street Bank as Senior Vice President and Head of Strategic Relationships. He subsequently moved to Northern Trust as Senior Vice President in the Global Fund Services business.

Emma Berwick

Emma is a headhunter with over fifteen years’ experience in executive search, working with senior leaders in financial services, fintech, central government and research and innovation to attract and retain successful Boards and C level teams.

Emma has worked in both London and Hong Kong, covering a wide range of campaigns ranging from the CFO for China for a global leading insurer, the Head of Sales APAC for a leading global fund manager through to entire Board refreshes for the GLA and leading government science organisations. Emma is a passionate advocate for encouraging and delivering diversity of life experience and thought in the Board room. She is a firm believer that ‘it’s hard to be what you cannot see’, with a proven track record of generating real change for her clients through her search work. Recognising that search is only one part of the puzzle in order to attract and retain the best talent, Emma also has experience of delivering Board audits and crafting inclusion and diversity propositions for her clients.

Roger Harrold

Roger in based in Singapore and is the Chief Representative for HornbyChapman’s Asian business.

Roger has spent most of his career at Deutsche Bank primarily in leading development in financial services. He spent 30 years with Deutsche Bank and the last 15 years he was Managing Director and member of the Global Management team for Trust and the Securities Services at Deutsche Bank.  He was globally responsible for building a broad successful franchise in Investor Services providing Custody, Accounting Services, Fund Administration, Securities lending and Registrar Services from over 40 direct markets to a broad client base including the world largest Institutional clients. After Deutsche Bank he was Managing Director and responsible for Product Management in Asia Pacific for World Wide Securities Services at JP Morgan. He is a member of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment, a Chartered member of the Institute of Financial Services and a member of International Securities Services Association (ISSA).

 

Hugo Batra

Hugo Batra is the newest member to join the expanding international team at HornbyChapman and is based in India. An MBA in Human Resource Management, Hugo’s specialisation lies in data research, database building and advanced talent sourcing skills. In his previous roles, Hugo has offered his expertise across numerous industries including healthcare, engineering, banking/finance, telecommunication, information technology, and manufacturing. His varied data skills and expertise in sourcing high calibre talent across many different verticals complements our international team well. He is a keen sports enthusiast and follows cricket closely. He likes travelling but at heart he is a family man and loves to spend most of his spare time with his family.
