Lionel De Nicola

Lionel has extensive experience in the Financial Services industry, acquired over 30 years of consulting at strategic and operational level. He has worked with Investment Managers, Wealth Managers, , Retirement Funds Life and Non-Life insurers, and administrators.
After completing postgraduate studies in Mathematics and Economics at Paris Dauphine University, Lionel studied towards an MSc in Economics at the London School of Economics. He also completed an Investment Management diploma at the London Business School.
Lionel started his career at Prudential Portfolio Managers in London, initially as an economist and later as a portfolio manager. He relocated to Cape Town to help set up Prudential in South Africa and in 1995 joined Coopers & Lybrand as a consultant. In 1997 he founded SOLVE, a South African based financial services management consultancy.

Chris Lourens

Chris has 30 years of experience in the Financial Services Industry, both as a participant and consultant. He has a master’s degree in economics, Money and Banking and has been a speaker at numerous international conferences on subjects ranging from Risk Management, GIPS, Performance Fees and Corporate Governance. His business knowledge covers Risk Management (Market, Credit & Operational), Treasury, Regulatory reporting, Investment Management, Fund Accounting and Unit Pricing, System evaluation and implementation, Global Investment Performance Standards, Performance and Attribution and strategy.
He lectured on a part-time basis at UJ as well as UFS for a B.Com.Hons (Investment) and an MBA (Risk Management) degree on a part-time basis for several years.
He started his career as a market risk manager at FNB Treasury and then moved to Real Africa Durolink as a group risk manager. From here he joined Solve as a management consultant.
